Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is not yet known and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.

The statement noted debris fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
